Dr. Murphy graduated from VCU School of Dentistry in 1997. Prior to studying at dental school, he attended Virginia Tech and is still a HUGE Hokie fan. After dental school, Dr. Murphy served four years in the US Air Force, completing an AEGD residency that taught advanced techniques in all of the specialty areas of dentistry. Since he began practicing dentistry, Dr. Murphy has kept up to date on many continuing educational classes, ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care. His passions in Dentistry are implants and cosmetics. The practice on Brook Road will be celebrating seven years in August 2009. Dr. Murphy was awarded his Mastership in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in February 2009.

Away from the office, Dr. Murphy spends his time with his wife Tara, and their children Erica (13), Cynthia (8), Kyla (5), and twin boys Andrew and Michael (3). When not chasing kids, he enjoys playing volleyball, hunting, and being down at the "Rivah".
